28 Signs That U.S. Public Schools Are Rapidly Being Turned Into Indoctrination Centers And Prison Camps

It has been said that children are our future, and right now the vast majority of our children are being "educated" in public schools that are rapidly being turned into indoctrination centers and prison camps. Our children desperately need to focus on the basics such as reading, writing and math, but instead a whole host of politicians, "education officials" and teachers are constantly injecting as much propaganda as they possibly can into classroom instruction. Instead of learning how to think, our children are continually being told what to think. Not only that, our children are also being trained how to live as subservient slaves in a Big Brother police state. Today, nearly everything that children do in public schools is watched, monitored, recorded and tracked. Independent thought and free expression are greatly discouraged and are often cracked down upon harshly. If students get "out of line", instead of being sent to see the principal they are often handcuffed, arrested and taken to the police station. In addition, law enforcement authorities are using weapons such as pepper spray and tasers against young students in our public schools more than ever before. Children in U.S. public schools are not learning how to live as strong individuals in the "land of the free and the home of the brave". Rather, they are being trained how to serve a Big Brother police state where control freaks run their entire lives. If we continue to allow all of the liberty and freedom to be systematically drained out of our school children, then there is not going to be much hope for the future of this nation.

The following are 28 signs that U.S public schools are being turned into indoctrination centers and prison camps....

#1 All 50 U.S. states are now constructing federally-mandated databases that will track the behavior and performance of all public school students in America throughout their entire school careers. According to the New York Post, the Obama administration wants to use the information that is gathered for a wide array of purposes....

The administration wants this data to include much more than name, address and test scores. According to the National Data Collection Model, the government should collect information on health-care history, family income and family voting status. In its view, public schools offer a golden opportunity to mine reams of data from a captive audience.

#2 All over America, school children are being immersed in the radical green agenda. In fact, in many areas of the country children are actively trained to watch how their parents behave and to correct them when they are being "environmentally unfriendly". The following is from a recent New York Times article about this phenomenon....

“I have very, very environmentally conscious children — more so than me, I’m embarrassed to say,” said Ms. Ross, a social worker in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. “They’re on my case about getting a hybrid car. They want me to replace all the light bulbs in the house with energy-saving bulbs.”

Ms. Ross’s children are part of what experts say is a growing army of “eco-kids” — steeped in environmentalism at school, in houses of worship, through scouting and even via popular culture — who try to hold their parents accountable at home. Amid their pride in their children’s zeal for all things green, the grown-ups sometimes end up feeling like scofflaws under the watchful eye of the pint-size eco-police, whose demands grow ever greater, and more expensive.

Later on in that same article, a district superintendent is quoted as saying that they try to inject the green agenda wherever they can into the curriculum....

“We’re trying to integrate it into anything where it naturally fits,” said Jackie Taylor, the district’s superintendent. “It might be in a math lesson. How much water are you really using? How can you tell? Teachers look for avenues in almost everything they teach.”

#3 One 13-year-old student down in New Mexico was recently handcuffed and forcibly removed from a classroom just because he burped in class. In all, over 200 students in Bernalillo County "have been handcuffed and arrested in the last three years for non-violent misdemeanors".

#4 All over America, students are being taught that the First Amendment does not apply in public schools. Expressions of free speech in school are often cracked down upon very hard. For example, one group of high school athletes was recently suspended for "Tebowing" in the hallways of their school.

#5 Many public school sex education classes have totally crossed the line. Instead of just "educating" children about sex, many sex ed courses are now "indoctrinating" children about sex. One recent example of this was detailed in the New York Times....

IMAGINE you have a 10- or 11-year-old child, just entering a public middle school. How would you feel if, as part of a class ostensibly about the risk of sexually transmitted diseases, he and his classmates were given “risk cards” that graphically named a variety of solitary and mutual sex acts? Or if, in another lesson, he was encouraged to disregard what you told him about sex, and to rely instead on teachers and health clinic staff members?

That prospect would horrify most parents. But such lessons are part of a middle-school curriculum that Dennis M. Walcott, the New York City schools chancellor, has recommended for his system’s newly mandated sex-education classes. There is a parental “opt out,” but it is very limited, covering classes on contraception and birth control.

#6 Sadly, this "sexual indoctrination" appears to be working. According to one recent study, sexual conduct between teen girls in the United States is now at the highest level ever recorded.

#7 Putting kids in jail has become standard operating procedure in the United States. Today, nearly one-third of all Americans are arrested by police by the time they reach the age of 23. At this point, the United States has the highest incarceration rate in the world and the largest total prison population on the entire globe, and yet our society just continues to become more unstable.

#8 In some U.S. schools, RFID chips are now being used to monitor the attendance and movements of children while they are at school. The following is how one article recently described a program that has just been instituted at a preschool in California....

Upon arriving in the morning, according to the Associated Press, each student at the CCC-George Miller preschool will don a jersey with a stitched in RFID chip. As the kids go about the business of learning, sensors in the school will record their movements, collecting attendance for both classes and meals. Officials from the school have claimed they're only recording information they're required to provide while receiving federal funds for their Headstart program.

#9 Increasingly, incidents of misbehavior at many U.S. schools are being treated as very serious crimes. For example, when a little girl kissed a little boy at one Florida elementary school recently, it was considered to be a "possible sex crime" and the police were called out.

#10 Even 5-year-old children are now being handcuffed and arrested by police in public schools. The following is from a recent article that described what happened to one very young student in Stockton, California earlier this year....

Earlier this year, a Stockton student was handcuffed with zip ties on his hands and feet, forced to go to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation and was charged with battery on a police officer. That student was 5 years old.

#11 A teenager in suburban Dallas was recently forced to take on a part-time job after being ticketed for using bad language in one high school classroom. The original ticket was for $340, but additional fees have raised the total bill to $637.

#12 It is not just high school kids that are being ticketed by police. In Texas the crackdown extends all the way down to elementary school students. In fact, it has been reported that Texas police gave "1,000 tickets" to elementary school kids over a recent six year period.

#13 Our children are being programmed to accept the fact that they will be watched and monitored constantly. For example, the U.S. Department of Agriculture is spending large amounts of money to install surveillance cameras in the cafeterias of public schools all across the nation so that government control freaks can closely monitor what our children are eating.

#14 If you can believe it, a "certified TSA official" was recently brought in to oversee student searches at the Santa Fe High School prom.

#15 Last year, a 17 year-old honor student in North Carolina named Ashley Smithwick accidentally took her father's lunch with her to school. It contained a small paring knife which he would use to slice up apples. So what happened to this standout student when the school discovered this? The school suspended her for the rest of the year and the police charged her with a misdemeanor.

#16 According to blogger Alexander Higgins, students in kindergarten and the 1st grade in the state of New Jersey are now required by law to participate "in monthly anti-terrorism drills". The following is an excerpt from a letter that he recently received from the school where his child attends....

Each month a school must conduct one fire drill and one security drill which may be a lockdown, bomb threat, evacuation, active shooter, or shelter-in place drill. All schools are now required by law to implement this procedure.

So who in the world ever decided that it would be a good idea for 1st grade students to endure "lockdown" and "active shooter" drills? To get an idea of what these kinds of drills are like, just check out this video.

#17 In some U.S. schools, armed cops accompanied by police dogs actually conduct surprise raids with their guns drawn. In this video, you can actually see police officers aiming their guns at school children as the students are lined up facing the wall.

#18 The U.S. government is now encouraging children to spy on their parents as part of the "war on terror". If a school official hears that a parent has said the "wrong thing" at home, that parent could potentially get labeled as a "potential terrorist".

#19 The U.S. government has also been increasingly using "polls" and "surveys" as tools to gather information about all of us. In previous articles, I have noted how government authorities seems particularly interested in our children. According to Mike Adams of Natural News, the CDC is starting to call parents all over the U.S. to question them about the vaccination status of their children....

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control, which has been comprehensively exposed as a vaccine propaganda organization promoting the interests of drug companies, is now engaged in a household surveillance program that involves calling U.S. households and intimidating parents into producing child immunization records. As part of what it deems a National Immunization Survey(NIS), the CDC is sending letters to U.S. households, alerting them that they will be called by "NORC at the University of Chicago" and that households should "have your child's immunization records handy when answering our questions."

#20 Last year, a high school student in Southern California was suspended for two days because he had private conversations with his classmates during which he discussed Christianity. He was also banned from bringing his Bible to school ever again.

#21 In early 2010, a 12 year old girl in New York was arrested by police and marched out of her school in handcuffs just because she doodled on her desk. "I love my friends Abby and Faith" was what she reportedly wrote on her desk.

#22 Back in 2009, one 8 year old boy in Massachusetts was sent home from school and was forced to undergo a psychological evaluation because he drew a picture of Jesus on the cross.

#23 A little over a year ago, a 6 year old girl in Florida was handcuffed and sent to a mental facility after throwing temper tantrums at her elementary school.

#24 Other students in Florida have actually been arrested for bringing a plastic butter knife to school, for throwing an eraser, and for drawing a picture of a gun.

#25 Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli has announced that school officials can search the cell phones and laptops of public school students if there are "reasonable grounds for suspecting that the search will turn up evidence that the student has violated or is violating either the law or the rules of the school."

#26 Increasingly, authorities are using "pre-crime" technology on our children in order to identify potential problem individuals. For example, the Florida State Department of Juvenile Justice has announced that it will begin using analysis software to predict crime by young delinquents and will place "potential offenders" in specific prevention and education programs.

#27 At one public high school in McAllen, Texas earlier this year, students were ordered to stand up and recite the Mexican national anthem and Mexican pledge of allegiance. School authorities have failed to explain how reciting a pledge of allegiance to a foreign nation has any educational value whatsoever.

#28 All over the United States, tasers are increasingly being used to "subdue" high school students. The following are two very shocking examples of this that were cited in a recent Alternet article....

On September 29, Keshana Wilson, 14, was shocked in the groin with a Taser while shoved against a parked car by Allentown, Pennsylvania police officer Jason Ammary, just outside her high school. The incident was captured on surveillance footage. Allentown police argue that the officer’s behavior was justified because “Wilson was cursing and inciting a group of people” as well as resisting arrest. While defending his fellow officer, Allentown Assistant Police Chief Joseph Hanna argued, “officers are trained to use the justified amount of force dictated by the actions of the resister, not their age or gender.”

Zahrod Jackson, a 17-year-old student, “was eligible to receive free lunch” at Middletown High School in Connecticut, according to a June report in the Middletown Press. Last September, Jackson exited the cafeteria line with a slice of pizza, but returned for a beef patty after spotting both pizza and a beef patty on the tray of a student who also receives free lunch. A screaming match ensued between Jackson and a cafeteria worker who accused the teen of stealing. The commotion quickly caught the eyes of SROs Kurt Scrivo, who “threw Jackson onto the cafeteria floor,” and Alex Rodriguez, who Tasered him five times.

So is all of this brutal repression helping our children get a better education?

Of course not.

The truth is that the American population is rapidly being "dumbed-down".

Today, American 15-year-olds do not even rank in the top half of all advanced nations when it comes to math or science literacy.

Not only that, our public schools are also producing kids that are woefully unprepared for college. The United States once had the highest proportion of young adults with post-secondary degrees in the world. Today, the U.S. has fallen to 12th.

Our public education system absolutely stinks and it is getting worse all the time.

I went to public schools all of my life, but I would never want to send my children to public schools now. They are going downhill really, really fast.

Just sending different politicians to Washington D.C. is not going to change the course of this nation. We need a complete political, economic, educational, moral, spiritual and philosophical renewal. Right now America is becoming a little more like North Korea every day. If we continue on this path there will be absolutely no future for our children and our grandchildren.

It is absolutely disgusting that our public schools are being transformed into indoctrination centers and prison camps. This is not what America is supposed to be about.

If we do not choose to stand up and fight for the future of this country, then we are going to get the future that we deserve.

Until 1942 American school kids used the same Roman salute as the Nazis and Italian socialists/fascists. After the crimes of these regimes became apparent the US government changed up the look of the pledge but the practice of having children pledge their allegiance to the government in government schools led by government teachers continues to this day. The Prussian Model of education that was adopted by the US Government was openly developed by the Prussian government to instill obedience to the state to ensure support for the government taxation schemes and to get the population to easily conscript into the military and obey the orders of commanders.

Fluoride - Poison in our Kid's (and Teacher's!) Water

One of the techniques the government uses to keep the tax slaves under control is to put the toxic chemical Fluoride, which lowers IQ, in the water. The substance that is put into the public's water supply to, supposedly, prevent dental caries is fluorosilicic acid in Loudoun/Fairfax and Sodium Fluoride in other jurisdictions both of which are the toxic byproducts of aluminum and fertilizer manufacture. It is undeniable that fluorosilicic acid is poisonous. It states that it is poisonous on its Material Safety Data Sheet that the government requires on all toxic chemicals transported through the US. It states that it is poisonous on the labels on the bags that are received by the water treatment plants. The notoriously pro-government Wikipedia admits it is poisonous, as do Natural News and the Mercola Natural Health Newsletter which are the most widely subscribed health newsletters in the world. It is so toxic that I have been told by a superintendent of a water treatment facility that its fumes alone will actually etch/ruin glass in the rooms where it is stored and used.

How Fluoride is Harming Our Kids and Teachers

Lower IQ - Fluoride has been linked to lower IQ in 23 published studies from around the world.

Dental Fluorosis - Ironically, Fluoride ingestion in the early years damages the tooth-forming cells leading to a defect in the tooth enamel and discoloration known as Dental Fluorisis.

Does Fluoride Even Protect Teeth From Cavities?
Not really. Here is information from the Fluoride Action Network:

"According to the current consensus view of the dental research community, fluoride's primary - if not sole - benefit to teeth comes from topical application to the surfaces of teeth (while in the mouth), and not from ingestion.

It is also acknowledged by dental researchers that fluoride has little effect on preventing cavities in the pits and fissures (chewing surfaces) of teeth - where the majority of tooth decay occurs.

Perhaps not surprisingly, therefore, tooth decay rates have declined at similar rates in all western countries in the latter half of the 20th century - irrespective of whether the country fluoridates its water or not. Today, tooth decay rates thoughout continental western Europe are as low as the tooth decay rates in the United States - despite a profound disparity in water fluoridation prevalence in the two regions.

Do Other Countries Fluoridate the Water?

- 97% of western Europe has rejected fluoridated water due to the known health risks, however 10% of Britons drink it and the UK government is trying to fast track the fluoridation of the entire country’s water supply.

- In Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg fluoridation of water was rejected because it was classified as compulsive medication against the subject’s will and therefore violated fundamental human rights.

Who Say Fluoride is Good for You?

The Federal Government - The US Public Health Service has been promoting fluoridation for 30 years and it doesn't appear that they are willing to admit their mistake anytime soon. The Federal Government is getting 50% of the public's income for its unconstitutional and flagrantly criminal activities so they have an interest in a dumbed-down and docile public. The scientists and toxicologists of the Enviornmental Protection Agency disagree and, through their union, have testified before Congress on the toxicology of Fluoride (See below).

The American Dental Association - The ADA has a government-granted monopoly on the training and certification of dentists. It also receives financial compensation from the toothpaste companies for the use of its imprimatur on every box of toothpaste so it can hardly be called unbiased. Many ADA dentists disagree and actually market themselves as "Fluoride-Free Dentists" to appeal to the intelligentsia. The Aluminum and Fertilizer Industries - These multi-billion dollar industries would be forced to pay about $10,000 per tank car to dump their hazardous waste in a Class A landfill vs. making an equivalent amount selling it to public health services to be dumped into the water supply.

The Scientists and Toxicologists of the Environmental Protection Agency - The EPA's own scientists and toxicologists, through their union, have testified before Congress on the toxicology of Fluoride and requested that it be removed from the water.

Dr. William Marcus, the Former Chief Toxicologist of the EPA's Water Quality Program - Dr. Marcus was an EPA whistleblower who was fired after publishing scientific reports on the toxicity of fluoride and recommending that it be taken out drinking water. Dr. Marcus' case was taken up by the Nation Whistleblower's Center which protects government employees from retaliation for publishing damaging facts about the government. He fought a two year legal battle where it came out that EPA lied, shredded documents, and falsified documents in their campaign against him. EPA was ordered to reinstate Dr. Marcus and pay back wages and damages for its actions.

Harvard School of Dental Health Researcher Elise Bassin - Dr. Bassin research confirmed a link between fluoridated water and higher incidence of bone cancer in children that had originally been identified in research by the National Toxicology Program in rats. The Washington Post called Bassin's 2001 Doctoral Thesis work that showed this correlation in children "is considered the most rigorous human study to date on a possible connection between fluoridation and osteosarcoma, a rare but lethal form of cancer that affects males nearly twice as often as females". Illustrative of the way that monied interests have and continue to cloud the issue, Dr. Bassin's faculty advisor at Harvard, Dr. Chester Douglass, appears to have suppressed this research within the School of Dental Health. It was discovered that he was on the payroll of fluoridated toothpaste manufacturer Colgate as an editor of the Colgate Oral Health Report. The Environmental Working Group, an advocacy organization, stepped in to ask federal officials to open an investigation into Dr. Douglass' conduct in the matter which they did.

What Can Parents/Teachers, Ashburn Elementary School & the Loudoun County School System Do About It?

Here are some suggestions:

1. Parents & Teachers - Get a water filter for your home that removes Fluoride and send your kids to school with fluoride-free water in a BPA-free bottle as I do with my kids. Buy Fluoride-free toothpaste (it says right there on the label that it is poisonous)

The most obvious solution is to get a water filter to remove the fluoride, chlorine, and any other contaminants from the drinking water and water used for cooking at the school. The last time that I saw the finances of the Ashburn PTO the organization was sitting on over $50,000+. The comment field is open below if anyone would care to name a more important use for that money than ensuring poison-free water for the students and teachers. I have already donated a small filter to the school which remains unused and I stand ready to donate, as I am sure that many other parents would as well, to any effort to buy the school a large capacity filter.

2. Research the Issue - Last year I contacted Dr. William Marcus, the former chief toxicologist for the EPA's water quality program. At the time Dr. Marcus was willing to do a conference call with the school administration and the Ashburn Elementary PTO which I suggested to the School's principal Mrs. Walthour be recorded and made available to the parents and teachers on the school's website. Mrs. Walthour refused. Why? I have requested to address the PTO on the issue on 4 separate occasions and have been refused. If there is credible evidence that the water that is being given to the students and teachers at the school is toxic then why would they not want to investigate the subject?

Additionally, the Loudoun County School District employs hundreds of science and chemistry teachers. I know from looking at the logs of this website that employees of the school district are frequent visitors to this site. Surely the school district has the resources to look into this issue and the other information presented on this website. If there is nothing to this then publish a rebuttal. Here is a superb documentary on water fluoridation that was put together by activists in Australia. It is an excellent overview of the toxicology of Fluoride, the harm it does the body, and the corporate "tobacco science" that its supporters rely on to promote a program to dispose of millions of tons of toxic waste from the aluminum and phosphate fertilizer industry into the public's drinking water.

I have done so because these books represent some of the most scholarly and well referenced works available documenting the hidden curriculum of government education:

The deliberate dumbing down of the masses so they can't understand how they are getting raped by the organized crime families that are stealing trillions though central banking/seinorage, military-industrial complex fraud, no-win wars in inhospitable places, etc
Destruction of independent thought and critical thinking (Ibid)

- Most evident in the government schools focus on "Green" and "environmentalism" to prepare the population to accept: carbon taxes, compact cities, and ultimately one-child policies/eugenics.

Most teachers, administrators and school psychologists that I have spoken with about this issue don't have a clue that the system they work in has been set up to accomplish these nefarious goals. They are compartmentalized, naive about the "big picture", and many willfully ignorant. I have a good friend who is a psychologist in the Loudoun County School "System" whose kids I care about deeply. I tried to loan her the books above before I donated them to Ashburn Elementary so she could better understand the system she was subjecting her own kids to. Not only did she refuse to even examine the evidence but she threatened to burn the books!

Most teachers and administrators, like my friend the school psychologist, believe because they are in the system... that they understand the system. After all... If there was a hidden curriculum to dumb down the kids then surely they would know about it! Right?

So teachers, administrators, and psychologists will unquestioning go along with "Red, Yellow, Green", public shaming (the "quiet table" at lunch), collective punishment (color cards at lunch), the surveillance cameras, police in the schools, "Classroom Management", the fluoride in the water fountains, raising your hand to go to the bathroom, raising your hand to get a spoon, the almighty Dolphin Dollar, the United Nations flag in the school, sex education, religion and value-free education, death education, the D.A.R.E Program (I turned in my parents and all I got was this lousy t-shirt), the Pavlovian bells, forced vaccinations, tee vees in the classrooms, schools they won't even send their own kids to, the garbage they are serving the kids in the lunchroom, the pledge of allegiance, communal property/communism, military recruiters in the high schools, whole language, outcome-based education, and all the other egregious, counter-productive and/or dehumanizing practices the government school system is engaged in.

Why? Because that's what "The Experts" in Washington DC and the Teacher's Colleges recommend!

OR WHO CREATED THE SYSTEM!!!!

Most government school teachers, administrators, and school psychologists don't have a clue as to how and why the Prussian educational model was imported to the United States. I would wager that the majority couldn't even identify Kindergarten as a Prussian word (A garden to grow children)

Most government school teachers, administrators, and school psychologists don't have a clue as to who set up the General Education Board and the teacher's colleges that became the basis for the system they serve today.

Because the administrators, teachers, and school psychologists don't understand how and why the system they serve was constructed, Aristotle would argue they don't really know much at all!

Aristotle's "four causes" stand at the heart of Western rationality and Western science. In order to know a thing, anything at all, Aristotle says that one must be able to understand four causes.

Material cause: “that from which, present in it, a thing comes to be … e.g., the bronze and silver, and their genera, are causes of the statue and the bowl.”
Formal cause: “the form, i.e., the pattern … the form is the account of the essence … and the parts of the account.”
Efficient cause: “the source of the primary principle of change or stability,” e.g., the man who gives advice, the father (of the child). “The producer is a cause of the product, and the initiator of the change is a cause of what is changed.”
Final cause: “something’s end (telos)—i.e., what it is for—is its cause, as health is of walking.”

The most important of these to him was the Efficient Cause. For Aristotle, in order to be said to know/understand some “thing” I.E. Government Schools, or The American Psychological Association, or the American Medical Association, etc. one must be able to know the cause of it.

For knowing about something consists of giving an explanation for why that thing is as it is and in order to give such an explanation, one must know the cause of the thing.

So while most school teachers, administrators, and school psychologists ~~think~~ believe they understand the government school system or the American Psychological Association because, after all, they work in the government school system and are a member of the American Psychological Association the reality is they know nothing at all (zero, (0), zilch, nada, nothing) about how these systems came into being, who funded their development and why.

So their understanding of the very systems they serve is actually quite fragile…

Perhaps they should look into who rocked their intellectual cradle…

There is a story of a young, but earnest Zen student who approached his teacher, and asked the Master, "If I work very hard and diligently, how long will it take for me to find Zen? The Master thought about this, then replied, "Ten years . ."  The student then said, "But what if I work very, very hard and really apply myself to learn fast -- How long then?" Replied the Master, "Well, twenty years." "But, if I really, really work at it, how long then?" asked the student. "Thirty years," replied the Master. "But, I do not understand," said the disappointed student. "At each time that I say I will work harder, you say it will take me longer. Why do you say that?"  Replied the Master, "When you have one eye on the goal, you only have one eye on the path."

This is the dilemma I've faced within the American education system. We are so focused on a goal, whether it be passing a test, or graduating as first in the class. However, in this way, we do not really learn. We do whatever it takes to achieve our original objective.

Some of you may be thinking, “Well, if you pass a test, or become valedictorian, didn't you learn something? Well, yes, you learned something, but not all that you could have. Perhaps, you only learned how to memorize names, places, and dates to later on forget in order to clear your mind for the next test. School is not all that it can be. Right now, it is a place for most people to determine that their goal is to get out as soon as possible.

I am now accomplishing that goal. I am graduating. I should look at this as a positive experience, especially being at the top of my class. However, in retrospect, I cannot say that I am any more intelligent than my peers. I can attest that I am only the best at doing what I am told and working the system. Yet, here I stand, and I am supposed to be proud that I have completed this period of indoctrination. I will leave in the fall to go on to the next phase expected of me, in order to receive a paper document that certifies that I am capable of work. But I contest that I am a human being, a thinker, an adventurer – not a worker. A worker is someone who is trapped within repetition – a slave of the system set up before him. But now, I have successfully shown that I was the best slave. I did what I was told to the extreme. While others sat in class and doodled to later become great artists, I sat in class to take notes and become a great test-taker. While others would come to class without their homework done because they were reading about an interest of theirs, I never missed an assignment. While others were creating music and writing lyrics, I decided to do extra credit, even though I never needed it. So, I wonder, why did I even want this position? Sure, I earned it, but what will come of it? When I leave educational institutionalism, will I be successful or forever lost? I have no clue about what I want to do with my life; I have no interests because I saw every subject of study as work, and I excelled at every subject just for the purpose of excelling, not learning. And quite frankly, now I'm scared.

John Taylor Gatto, a retired school teacher and activist critical of compulsory schooling, asserts, “We could encourage the best qualities of youthfulness – curiosity, adventure, resilience, the capacity for surprising insight simply by being more flexible about time, texts, and tests, by introducing kids into truly competent adults, and by giving each student what autonomy he or she needs in order to take a risk every now and then. But we don't do that.” Between these cinderblock walls, we are all expected to be the same. We are trained to ace every standardized test, and those who deviate and see light through a different lens are worthless to the scheme of public education, and therefore viewed with contempt.

H. L. Mencken wrote in The American Mercury for April 1924 that the aim of public education is not

to fill the young of the species with knowledge and awaken their intelligence. ... Nothing could be further from the truth. The aim ... is simply to reduce as many individuals as possible to the same safe level, to breed and train a standardized citizenry, to put down dissent and originality. That is its aim in the United States. (Gatto)

To illustrate this idea, doesn't it perturb you to learn about the idea of “critical thinking.” Is there really such a thing as “uncritically thinking?” To think is to process information in order to form an opinion. But if we are not critical when processing this information, are we really thinking? Or are we mindlessly accepting other opinions as truth?

This was happening to me, and if it wasn't for the rare occurrence of an avant-garde tenth grade English teacher, Donna Bryan, who allowed me to open my mind and ask questions before accepting textbook doctrine, I would have been doomed. I am now enlightened, but my mind still feels disabled. I must retrain myself and constantly remember how insane this ostensibly sane place really is.

And now here I am in a world guided by fear, a world suppressing the uniqueness that lies inside each of us, a world where we can either acquiesce to the inhuman nonsense of corporatism and materialism or insist on change. We are not enlivened by an educational system that clandestinely sets us up for jobs that could be automated, for work that need not be done, for enslavement without fervency for meaningful achievement. We have no choices in life when money is our motivational force. Our motivational force ought to be passion, but this is lost from the moment we step into a system that trains us, rather than inspires us.

We are more than robotic bookshelves, conditioned to blurt out facts we were taught in school. We are all very special, every human on this planet is so special, so aren't we all deserving of something better, of using our minds for innovation, rather than memorization, for creativity, rather than futile activity, for rumination rather than stagnation? We are not here to get a degree, to then get a job, so we can consume industry-approved placation after placation. There is more, and more still.

The saddest part is that the majority of students don't have the opportunity to reflect as I did. The majority of students are put through the same brainwashing techniques in order to create a complacent labor force working in the interests of large corporations and secretive government, and worst of all, they are completely unaware of it. I will never be able to turn back these 18 years. I can't run away to another country with an education system meant to enlighten rather than condition. This part of my life is over, and I want to make sure that no other child will have his or her potential suppressed by powers meant to exploit and control. We are human beings. We are thinkers, dreamers, explorers, artists, writers, engineers. We are anything we want to be - but only if we have an educational system that supports us rather than holds us down. A tree can grow, but only if its roots are given a healthy foundation.

For those of you out there that must continue to sit in desks and yield to the authoritarian ideologies of instructors, do not be disheartened. You still have the opportunity to stand up, ask questions, be critical, and create your own perspective. Demand a setting that will provide you with intellectual capabilities that allow you to expand your mind instead of directing it. Demand that you be interested in class. Demand that the excuse, “You have to learn this for the test” is not good enough for you. Education is an excellent tool, if used properly, but focus more on learning rather than getting good grades.

For those of you that work within the system that I am condemning, I do not mean to insult; I intend to motivate. You have the power to change the incompetencies of this system. I know that you did not become a teacher or administrator to see your students bored. You cannot accept the authority of the governing bodies that tell you what to teach, how to teach it, and that you will be punished if you do not comply. Our potential is at stake.

For those of you that are now leaving this establishment, I say, do not forget what went on in these classrooms. Do not abandon those that come after you. We are the new future and we are not going to let tradition stand. We will break down the walls of corruption to let a garden of knowledge grow throughout America. Once educated properly, we will have the power to do anything, and best of all, we will only use that power for good, for we will be cultivated and wise. We will not accept anything at face value. We will ask questions, and we will demand truth.

So, here I stand. I am not standing here as valedictorian by myself. I was molded by my environment, by all of my peers who are sitting here watching me. I couldn't have accomplished this without all of you. It was all of you who truly made me the person I am today. It was all of you who were my competition, yet my backbone. In that way, we are all valedictorians.

I am now supposed to say farewell to this institution, those who maintain it, and those who stand with me and behind me, but I hope this farewell is more of a “see you later” when we are all working together to rear a pedagogic movement. But first, let's go get those pieces of paper that tell us that we're smart enough to do so!

Conservative activist James O'Keefe has released a video — titled "Teachers Unions Gone Wild" — claiming to show undercover footage from a New Jersey Education Association leadership conference at the East Brunswick Hilton hotel.

The video shows people identified as teachers playing arcade games on "their [taxpayer's] dime," chanting about kicking Gov. Chris Christie "in the toolbox," and talking about how hard it is to fire a tenured teacher.

The first video is a good overview on how the rulers use their control of the MainStreamMedia to program reality into those who get the majority of their information from television and glossy magazines. If the television is the focus of your “mind’s eye” then if you want to control the masses then you simply buy control of the MSM with the little paper tickets you print on a printing press or create on a computer that you have bribed/lobbied Congress to force the slaves to accept as money. What is not addressed in this video is the other legs of the stool:

1. Fluoride in the Water Supply – Fluoride promotes docility… It is one of the chemicals in PROZAC (FLUoxetene Hydrochloride) and Sarin Nerve Gas (Isopropyl-Methyl-Phosphoryl FLUORIDE) Combined with the flicker-rate / alpha wave in older sets combines to mesmerize and glue people to the set. It also creates a passivity where even when intelligent people explain this process in detail to someone born into this control system, and even if the victim can glimpse the truth, they are too docile to take action to research more and/or even try to get off the fluoride for a while to see what might happen.

2. Government Schools – Develops in children an obedience to government/authority, and creates a “hive mind” where everyone knows the same thing: I.E. that Fluoride is some sort of liquid vitamin that is added to the water supply because the government loves you and wants to keep all the little children in the world cavity-free.

3. Cognitive Dissonance – A psychological phenomenon where the brain refuses to accept new information that contradicts information previously learned (I.E. Programmed in via Tell-a-vision, MSM, and Government Schools) ESPECIALLY if the new information causes pain. I.E. I have been conned and I have been injecting my kids with mercury, aluminum hydroxide, and aluminum phosphate OR I have been letting my kids drink water laced with a chemical that has been shown to reduce IQ in 23 different peer reviewed studies from around the world . Rather than accept reality the brain will simply dismiss the new information is uncredible no matter how authoritative the source: I.E. The Chief Toxicologist of the FDA’s water quality program, the head of the EPA’s union testifying before Congress that ~90% of the scientists and toxicologists are against water fluoridation, 2700+ health professionals, Scientific American, 14 Nobel Laureates in science and medicine, etc. etc. etc. It is so much easier to ignore reality and go back to the warm inviting glow of the flat screen mental prison…

After all... If it was really happening then someone would have blown the whistle, someone would have told me about it, and it would be on tell-a-vision...

Yet another story about a school installing surveillance cameras in bathrooms reminds us that, while parents are treated as pedophiles for taking photographs of their own children, any perversion whatsoever is acceptable as long as it is conducted by those deemed to be in a position of authority.

“Outraged parents have hit out at a school in Birmingham after pupils discovered CCTV cameras in the school’s toilets,” reports Sky News.

“Youngsters at Grace Academy in Chelmsley Wood claim they returned from half-term to find staff had installed the cameras without notifying them or their parents.”

The report points to another recent case in Britain, where a school in Salford filmed children in various stages of undress changing into their gym kit.

Parents slammed the move as a “total invasion of privacy” and many students refused to use the bathroom, but the school claimed that installing cameras to watch children in the most intimate setting possible was perfectly normal because “children want to feel secure”.

So as long as it’s done in the name of safety and security, watching children in bathrooms is acceptable. Perhaps child molesters who are caught with kiddie porn should use the defense that they are merely watching videos of children to make them “feel secure”. But we’re forgetting the golden rule – you’re only allowed to engage in such behavior if you happen to be ascribed some position of authority.

We have reported on numerous cases of school officials installing cameras in school bathrooms which allow perverts to spy on children in various stages of undress.

Compare this with the case of Kevin Geraghty-Shewan, a man who dared to take photographs of his own son in public riding a toy train.

Geraghty-Shewan was promptly interrupted by a security thug who accused him of being a pedophile. The man was then approached by a police officer and threatened with arrest for having the temerity to get upset about the situation. Of course, the fact that Geraghty-Shewan and his son were simultaneously being filmed by a plethora of shopping mall CCTV cameras is beside the point – big brother is allowed to watch us but we can’t even record our own offspring without being lectured about how we’re potential child molesters by those in petty positions of authority.

And it’s not just school corridors and bathrooms where kids are being spied on. Perhaps the most shocking aspect of the recent case in Philadelphia, where a school district issued laptop computers to 1,800 students across two high schools and then used concealed cameras within the machines to spy on students and their parents without their knowledge or consent, is the fact that school officials did not attempt to hide the scandal, they bragged about it.

In a PBS news clip, the assistant principle in a separate case shows a reporter how, much to his own amusement, he spies on kids via their laptops and even takes pictures of them.

“I always like to mess with them and take a picture,” chuckles the man as the reporter whitewashes the alarming spectacle.

If a child pervert had been caught installing software on laptops that enabled him to watch and record children, there would be outrage, but again, when someone in a petty position of authority does it, it’s normal and good.

This cult-like mass mental illness that anything done by an authority figure is acceptable strikes at the very root of everything that’s wrong with our society today.

The broader argument is that schools across the western world are now beginning to resemble prisons as children are surveilled, policed and even arrested as criminals for the most benign adolescent behavior like doodling on a desk, as happened to 12-year-old Queens student Alexa Gonzalez recently.

Regular drug raids, strip searches and lockdowns all inculcate within the child the notion that they are a prisoner of big brother from an early age.

Anyone who can afford to get their children out of the public school system and place them in a well-run private school or better yet, home school their kids, would be insane not to do so in the current climate.

For those who can’t afford to do so, you’re going to have to spend a lot of time with your children in an attempt to reverse the psychological conditioning they are being bombarded with on a daily basis in the prison camps without bars that now pass for schools in many parts of the western world.

The Loudoun County Health Department, under the leadership of Dr. David Goodfriend and supported by Loudoun County Schools Superintendent Edgar Hatrick and, I am assuming since she is allowing it in her school, Ashburn Elementary School Principal Dr. Barbara Holley, is planning on injecting students at Ashburn Elementary School tomorrow with potentially dangerous vaccines of specious efficacy. While the program is voluntary, I have attended the past two Loudoun County informational meetings and have watched Dr. Goodfriend overstate the efficacy of flu shots in general while dramatically understating the dangers of vaccination. I have repeatedly asked Dr. Goodfriend to explain why autism has gone from from 1 in 10,000 kids in 1983 (10 vaccines on the CDC’s mandatory schedule) to an astounding 1 in 100 kids today (36+ shots on the CDC’s schedule) while unvaccinated populations such as The Amish, California unvaccinated kids surveyed by Generation Rescue, 30,000+ patients of Homefirst Medical Services in Chicago, and The Hopewood Children to name a few don't seem to have anything approaching full spectrum autism.

I just found out about this today and have a call and email out to the Loudoun County Health Department to confirm whether the vaccines administered will be:

H1N1 Vaccine or Seasonal?
Injections or Nasal Mist?
If Injections: Thimerosal or "Thimerosal Light" - I say "Thimerosal Light" because the FDA/CDC's definition of "Thimerosal-Free" still allows up to .3 mcg of thimerosal / mercury.

Important: If the gov't (Loudoun County Health Dept) is planning on using the MedImmune H1N1 Nasal Spray Flu Mist then they will be spreading an untested LIVE VIRUS that has the ability to be "shed" by students who receive the nasal spray (See Section 14.5 on the insert, More Here) By breathing, coughing, and sneezing students that have been nasally inoculated can spread the live virus to kids, teachers, and parents who were educated enough NOT to roll the dice on an untested vaccine. In the one study that was done to study if the live virus in the vaccine could be spread to children who were not inoculated the rate was found to be 2.4%. I, personally, would advise all parents, teachers, and school employees to stay home the next two days to avoid being contaminated if the district is planning on using the H1N1 Nasal Mist.

Some of the H1N1 Vaccines/Swine Flu Shots Have the mercury-based preservative Thimerosal in them which has been linked to autism and neurological problems. The CDC has been caught lying about the connection between thimerosal and mercury (See the interview with Dr. Mark and David Geier Here). Some doctors believe that all vaccines can cause brain damage by sludging the blood in the brain, impairing bloodflow and causing the equivalent of a small stroke (ischemia).

While I haven't yet heard back from the Loudoun County Health Dept on the specifics of tomorrow's program here is what has been reported about the H1N1 vaccinations in general with respect to their mercury content:

Does the Swine Flu shot have mercury in it? The answer is yes... some of them.

If you decide to get the shot, INSIST on seeing the vaccine package insert. If you are offered a shot that is drawn from a vial, that will be a mercury containing vaccine.

Keep in mind that many parents of children with autism reported that their child received a shot from a multi-dose vial, and then saw the nurse throw the bottle away. Mercury is a heavy metal, and if the nurses who use that vial do not "shake vigorously before use" then the mercury settles at the bottom and the last person to get a shot drawn from that vial gets a "hot shot" with all the mercury in it.

Medimmune's thimerosal free nasal spray (flu mist) live virus H1N1 vaccine

Pay close attention to Section 17.2 where they discuss that patients are CONTAGIOUS after getting the nasal form of this vaccine.

This can actually ...spread the disease that the CDC is supposedly trying to prevent.

Note that the adverse reactions section reports that a side effect of the H1N1 flu shot in about ten percent of recipients is..... the flu itself.

Mike Adams, the Editor of Natural News has called the regular seasonal flu vaccine: "the greatest quackery in the history of medicine". This month's edition of The Atlantic Monthly destroys the CDC's "evidence" of efficacy and the claim that the flu shot reduces mortality among the elderly pointing out that:

The studies looking at flu deaths in the elderly didn't actually measure a true cohort population but the "healthy elderly" that were more likely to be able to go out and get vaccinated and less likely to die of the flu. The "frail elderly"had a 60% higher baseline death rate negating the supposed protection the flu shot provided.
In 2004 when vaccine production was running behind schedule and 40% of the population didn't receive vaccinations there was no corresponding increase in mortality.
In years when the flu strain has been mismatched (more on this below) as was the case in 1968 and 1997 when none of the specific strains of flu chosen for the vaccine program in the summer actually corresponded to the circulating strain of the flu in the winter there was no (0) zilch, nada increase in death rates from the flu and/or the various illnesses it can exacerbate.
"In 1989, only 15 percent of people over age 65 in the U.S. and Canada were vaccinated against flu. Today, more than 65 percent are immunized. Yet death rates among the elderly during flu season have increased rather than decreased."

Every year the World Health Organization and the CDC survey flu strains and pass along their findings to a committee that decides which flu strains should be included in next years flu shot. They are almost always wrong as they were in 2008 when the predominant type A flu virus was the H3N2 strain; 87% were the "Brisbane" strain. And 93% of the type B flu bugs was from the "Yamagata" lineage. Last year's flu vaccine's H3N2 component was the "Wisconsin" strain; the type B component was from the "Victoria" lineage. In 2007, when the Brisbane strain was predominant in Europe, the "Wisconsin" vaccine was the primary component and estimated to be only 52% protective against infection.

In addition to the studies listed above I can share some personal anecdotes: My next door neighbor chose two weeks ago to get a flu shot for herself and her two kids. They all came down with the flu. Her husband who was not vaccinated did not contract the flu even when living in a household with 3 carriers. I have a business acquaintance who came down with the flu after getting the seasonal flu shot. A friend's mother-in-law is a hospice nurse in Kentucky and was forced to receive a flu shot 19 days ago and became very ill right after receiving the shot and is still sick to this day. She was tested and doesn't have the flu but was sickened by the shot. I am sure everyone knows the story of the Washington Redskins Ambassador who is now permanently disabled after receiving a seasonal flu shot. UPDATED: Since I wrote this article I attended the Ashburn Elementary School Halloween Parade on Friday, October 31st. I arrived early and there were two moms in one of son's classroom discussing the flu. Both moms had gotten their kids the government's flu mist the previous week and both of their kids had come down with the flu. The vaccine is the pandemic...

Critical Acclaim for Autism: Made in the USA

I attended the Loudoun County Government and Loudoun County Health department's meeting on the H1N1 Flu Crisis. I am working on a much longer and much more detailed story on the meeting and their last meeting but I did want to get something up on the evidence that the CDC has been covering up the correlation between autism and vaccines. Vaccines are by far the #1 suspect in the sky-rocketing rates of autism and neurological problems that has seen autism skyrocket from 1 in 10,000 kids in 1983 (10 vaccines on the CDC’s mandatory schedule) to an astounding 1 in 100 kids today (36+ shots on the CDC’s schedule).

Besides the voluminous evidence below that the CDC has been caught lying on multiple occasions, simple common sense should be enough on this issue:

Unvaccinated populations don't have Autism -These include: The Amish, California unvaccinated kids surveyed by Generation Rescue, 30,000+ patients of Homefirst Medical Services in Chicago, and The Hopewood Children to name a few
European countries who give 1/3 the number of shots that we give and have banned thimerosal have 1/5 the autism that we do and 1/2 the mortality rate for children under 5 years old.
Many kids develop autism or suffer adverse reactions such as febrile seizures immediately after getting vaccinated. At 2:54 on this video you can see an autism conference where parents of autistic kids are asked to raise their hands if they can document with video evidence that their kids were normal prior to receiving a vaccine. You can see hundreds of hands waving in the crowd. This footage was censored by the CBS news magazine program 60 Minutes's coverage of the conference in a story on autism.

Over and over again during both Loudoun County meetings Dr. Goodfriend kept referring to studies done by the CDC. Many good Doctors, nurses, and health professionals have been making their vaccination recommendations based on data supplied by the CDC. What these good doctors, nurses, and health professionals don't understand is that the CDC has been caught lying on multiple occasions about the link between vaccination and autism/neurological problems including changing data in studies and denying/frustrating/delaying the efforts of independent researchers to even access the CDC's data in their Vaccine Safety Datalink database. So Why Do Good Doctors, Nurses, Health Care Workers, and Parents Continue to Vaccinate Kids
Many are ignorant to the facts concerning vaccination's connection to autism and neurological defects, many nurses know or have suspicions but can't speak up for fear of losing their jobs, and many medical practices have become financially dependent on the money that vaccination brings in both selling the shots and, for some small portion of unscrupulous doctors, treating the aftermath.

I believe the #1 culprit is a psychological phenomenon known as Cognitive Dissonance. The brain has a defense mechanism where it will outright reject information that conflicts with previously learned information especially if that new information causes pain.

I believe most doctors, health professionals, and parents refuse to examine the evidence for the connection to vaccination and autism because to do so would mean having to admit they have been conned by the eugenicists at the CDC and in the billion dollar pharmaceutical industry. They would have to admit that they have been hurting kids instead of helping them and have brain damaged millions of children. So it is easier to simply ignore the evidence:

A good friend of mine who works in the government school system saw the graph above from yesterday's article: American Idiots. He was puzzled how we could could be achieving such horrible results when we spend more per pupil than Finland and keep the kids in school longer. He picked up his mouse and began to research the subject and discovered that Finland doesn't add Fluoride to the water. I helped him fill in some more of blanks.

Not only does the country not Fluoridate their water but Finland (along with Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Russia, and numerous other countries) have also banned the mercury preservative Thimerosol from their vaccines! The CDC has been caught lying and obfuscating on multiple occasions on Thimerosal's connection to Autism.

In addition, the country’s vaccination schedule has 1/3 the total # of injections as ours… and ½ our mortality rate for children under 5…. (SIDS is really vaccination killing kids which many corrupt AMA monopoly physicians blame on SIDS so they don’t have to tell the parents it was the shot they just sold them 1-2 days before that killed their kid…Click for link to PDF) and, most importantly, they have about 1/5 of the autism that we see in the United States!

It’s not enough the government has its hooks in America’s children most of the year. Now Obama wants to do away with summer vacation and have children spend more time in the government’s indoctrination centers.

“Obama says American kids spend too little time in school, putting them at a disadvantage with other students around the globe,” reports the Associated Press. “Now, I know longer school days and school years are not wildly popular ideas,” the president said earlier this year. “Not with Malia and Sasha, not in my family, and probably not in yours. But the challenges of a new century demand more time in the classroom.”

It’s interesting Obama would use his kids to make a point about children around the country in public schools. Obama’s kids attend Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C., a private school that charges $29,000 a year in tuition. Theodore Roosevelt, Richard Nixon, and Bill Clinton sent their children to Sidwell. Vice President Al Gore’s son, Albert Gore III, also graduated from Sidwell Friends. It’s an exclusive school that prepares the children of the elite to lord over the rest of us.

In addition to eliminating summer vacation, the government wants to increase the hours kids spend in government indoctrination camps every day.

Obama and Education Secretary Arne Duncan told the AP kids need to be in school and away from their parents more because of dismal academic performance.

In fact, as H. L. Mencken noted in 1924, compulsory education is not about test scores and academics — it’s about state control of children. Mencken said the aim of public education is not “to fill the young of the species with knowledge and awaken their intelligence…. Nothing could be further from the truth. The aim … is simply to reduce as many individuals as possible to the same safe level, to breed and train a standardized citizenry, to put down dissent and originality. That is its aim in the United States… and that is its aim everywhere else.”

John Taylor Gatto, a retired school teacher, talks about the real purpose of public eduction — state controlled consciousness.

Former teacher John Taylor Gatto explains that the purpose of so-called public education is to teach children to follow orders and not question authority. Public education is about undermining the autonomy of the family.

“Institutional leaders have come to regard themselves as great synthetic Fathers to millions of synthetic Children, by which, I mean, to all of us. This theory sees us bound together in some abstract family relationship in which the State is the true Mother and Father, hence it insists on our first and best loyalty,” writes Gatto in his essay, We Need Less School, Not More.

In a review of Gatto’s book, Dumbing Us Down, Ron Miller writes that the crux of Gatto’s critique is that:

"in the past 125 years, social engineers have sought to keep American life under tight central control. Compulsory schooling is a deliberate effort to establish intellectual, economic, and political conformity so that society can be managed efficiently by a technocratic elite. “School,” claims Gatto, “Is an artifice that makes …. a pyramidal social order seem inevitable, although such a premise is a fundamental betrayal of the American Revolution.” Along with the media — especially television, which Gatto criticizes harshly in another essay — schooling removes young people from any genuine experience of community, any genuine engagement with the world or immersion in lasting relationships. It robs them of solitude and privacy. Yet these experiences are what enable us to develop self-knowledge and to grow up “fully human,” argues Gatto, and he asserts that our most troubling social pathologies, such as drug abuse and violence, are the natural reaction of human lives subjected to mechanical, abstract discipline."

As a social engineer for the global elite, Education Secretary Arne Duncan wants to place state indoctrination at the very center of society. “Aside from improving academic performance, Education Secretary Duncan has a vision of schools as the heart of the community,” the AP reports.

Charlotte Iserbyt served as Senior Policy Advisor in the Office of Educational Research and Improvement in the U.S. Department of Education, during the first Reagan Administration. Iserbyt talked with Alex Jones on January 24, 2008.

Obama’s message is clear — the state owns your children and now demands they spend more time in dangerous and often violent indoctrination centers that teach them not only how to become obedient robots and docile workers on the global slave plantation, but also teaches them about sex, suicide, and situational ethics instead of rational and independent thought.

I am publicly requesting that my kids not be exposed to any propaganda efforts by the current illegitimate central bankster puppet President Barack Hussein Obama. I understand through news reports that President Obama is scheduled to address children in the government school system via telescreen in a creepy, 1984-meets-Stalin/Kim Jong-Il televised address tomorrow. It’s just an education pep rally, they insist, and the Republicans and other domestic terrorists — as Obama’s komissariat now call the opposition — are attempting to politicize the event and use it to attack the president.

Domestic terrorists with children all around the country are outraged by the stunt and many of them plan to keep their kids out of school on Tuesday.

“White House officials said they were surprised and frustrated by the reaction to a speech they said amounts to an educational pep talk. [White House spokesman Tommy Vietor] said the speech will be released Monday to give parents time to review it and decide for themselves. ‘There’s a tradition in Washington of attack first, ask questions later,’ he said. ‘There is a “ready, fire, aim” approach to political attacks. It’s unfortunate that politics has been brought into this,’” CBS News reported on Friday.

In fact, the White House has already modify the propaganda it plans to deliver to a captive audience of highly impressionable children — captive in sense most public schools are locked down prisons, many with metal detectors and armed guards.

The Department of Government Education sent to the memory hole preparatory materials posted on its website last week in response to widespread outrage. According to the CDC, 66% of adults over the age of 20 are overweight or obese. That is approximately 140 million adults. Somewhere between 15 and 20 million Americans can be classified as alcoholics. As many as 50% of those on welfare are alcoholics. There are 225 million people over 18 years old and 32 million of them do not have a high school degree. There are 32 million adults or 14% who are illiterate (23% in California, 22% in New York, 20% in Florida, 17% in New Jersey). The United States’ spending per pupil in public schools at $9,266 is in the top 5 in the world. New York and New Jersey spend $14,000 per pupil and one-fifth of their adults are illiterate.

The Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) is an international comparison of 15-year-olds conducted by The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) that measures applied learning and problem-solving ability. In 2006, U.S. students ranked 25th of 30 advanced nations in math and 24th in science. McKinsey & Company, in releasing its report "The Economic Impact of the Achievement Gap in America's Schools" (April 2009) said, "Several other facts paint a worrisome picture. First, the longer American children are in school, the worse they perform compared to their international peers. In recent cross-country comparisons of fourth grade reading, math, and science, US students scored in the top quarter or top half of advanced nations. By age 15 these rankings drop to the bottom half. In other words, American students are farthest behind just as they are about to enter higher education or the workforce." That's a sobering thought. The longer kids are in school and the more money we spend on them, the further behind they get.

While the academic performance of white students is grossly inferior, that of black and Latino students is a national disgrace. The McKinsey report says, "On average, black and Latino students are roughly two to three years of learning behind white students of the same age. This racial gap exists regardless of how it is measured, including both achievement (e.g., test score) and attainment (e.g., graduation rate) measures. Taking the average National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) scores for math and reading across the fourth and eighth grades, for example, 48 percent of blacks and 43 percent of Latinos are 'below basic,' while only 17 percent of whites are, and this gap exists in every state. A more pronounced racial achievement gap exists in most large urban school districts." Below basic is the category the NAEP uses for students unable to display even partial mastery of knowledge and skills fundamental for proficient work at their grade level.

The teaching establishment and politicians have hoodwinked taxpayers into believing that more money is needed to improve education. The Washington, D.C., school budget is about the nation's costliest, spending about $15,000 per pupil. Its student/teacher ratio, at 15.2 to 1, is lower than the nation's average. Yet student achievement is just about the lowest in the nation. What's so callous about the Washington situation is about 1,700 children in kindergarten through 12th grade receive the $7,500 annual scholarships in order to escape rotten D.C. public schools, and four times as many apply for the scholarships, yet Congress, beholden to the education establishment, will end funding the school voucher program.

Any long-term solution to our education problems requires the decentralization that can come from competition. Centralization has been massive. In 1930, there were 119,000 school districts across the U.S; today, there are less than 15,000. Control has moved from local communities to the school district, to the state, and to the federal government. Public education has become a highly centralized government-backed monopoly and we shouldn't be surprised by the results. It's a no-brainer that the areas of our lives with the greatest innovation, tailoring of services to individual wants and falling prices are the areas where there is ruthless competition such as computers, food, telephone and clothing industries, and delivery companies such as UPS, Federal Express and electronic bill payments that have begun to undermine the postal monopoly in first-class mail.

At a Washington press conference launching the McKinsey report, Al Sharpton called school reform the civil rights challenge of our time. He said that the enemy of opportunity for blacks in the U.S. was once Jim Crow; today, in a slap at the educational establishment, he said it was "Professor James Crow." Sharpton is only partly correct. School reform is not solely a racial issue; it's a vital issue for the entire nation.

Now, what are the things that government schools dare not teach?

They dare not teach the spirit of the Constitution as set forth in the first official document of the United States, the Declaration of Independence. They dare not teach it because it says that all men, not just the majority, are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

A man isn't free to pursue happiness when the majority in any school district, state or nation can coerce him to pay for a school that he believes violates the principles upon which this government was formed.

The school teachers dare not emphasize this part of the Declaration of Independence. They dare not explain the true meaning of this statement. If they were successful in explaining and teaching the true meaning of these ideologies, there would be no gun-run schools.
Again, they dare not teach that to secure these rights governments are instituted among men, deriving their just power from the consent of the governed. They have to completely repudiate the ideas of the American way of life. They have to teach the old-world philosophy of the divine right of governments, only now they call it the divine right of the majority rather than the divine right of kings.
They dare not teach in government schools the meaning of liberty. It is doubtful whether any teacher in gun-run schools dares define the kind of liberty the Founding Fathers mutually pledged to each other their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to support. If the government schools successfully taught the meaning of the liberty our Founding Fathers had in mind, there would be no government schools that starve the intellects of our children.
The government schools dare not teach the meaning of the Golden Rule. If they were successful in getting their pupils to understand that they should not force other people to pay for something they did not want, then they could see that it was a violation of the Golden Rule to force others to pay for their schooling.

They, of course, dare not teach their pupils to believe that if it is wicked and a violation of the Golden Rule for one man to do a thing, it is still wicked and a violation of the Golden Rule if 49 per cent or 99 per cent of the people do the same thing. They, thus, dare not teach the youth that the ideal government, the only kind of government that can be of value to mankind, is one that is limited to the use of defensive force and never has a right, under any circumstances, to initiate force.

I want to continue suggesting things that tax-run schools dare not teach.

They dare not teach the First Commandment: "Thou shalt have no other Gods before me" because they are bowing down and worshipping the will of the majority rather than the eternal laws of God that no man made and no man can unmake.
They dare not teach "Thou shalt not covet," because they are violating the Coveting Commandment.

They believe they do not need to teach well enough that people will voluntarily pay their salaries. They get their pay by violence rather than by rendering service well enough so that those who pay them believe they are benefited by their employment.
They dare not teach discipline and self-reliance because they are not disciplining themselves enough to render such service that they can be paid voluntarily. The teachers take the shortcut and use a police club to get their money. That certainly is not discipline, nor is it self-reliance.
They dare not teach thrift and the harm that comes from getting into debt. They dare not do this because the government burdens every child and every person in the United States with a monstrous debt.
They dare not teach respect for individual initiative because government schools are based on lack of respect for other people's initiative. They are based on the theory that "We've got the power and the individual is helpless and we're going to make him pay for anything our agents think is education."
They dare not teach humility and meekness because the means used by government schools are the exact opposite of humility and meekness. Are believers in tax-run schools so sure they are right that they are willing to initiate force to make people support their ideas of education? They see themselves as so exalted that they have lost all humility and meekness. And remember, "He who exalts himself shall become abased."
They dare not teach children to reason. They have to teach them not to recognize a contradiction or a dilemma. If the pupils were taught to reason, they would recognize the tyranny that is bound to follow making people pay for things and ideas they abhor.

They dare not teach the harm that follows socialism, communism, collectivism and fascism for to do so would let pupils realize that aggressive force is part of socialism, communism, collectivism and fascism.

They dare not teach that what man wants must be obtained on a voluntary basis. They dare not teach this because they get what they want on an involuntary basis.
They dare not teach the difference between socialism and private ownership of property. They dare not explain that under socialism the only way a man can benefit is by injuring another, as in the case in compelling people to pay for schools they think will destroy the country.
They dare not explain that in free enterprise, including free enterprise in education, the gain of one is the gain of all.
Tax-run schools dare not teach love and charity because they are using aggressive force. They seem to think that aggressive force is better than persuasion by love and charity.
They cannot teach patience because they are so impatient about getting what they seem to believe is an education that they dare not wait to persuade those who should employ them to pay their salaries.
They cannot teach peace and goodwill because they are an example of the opposite of peace and goodwill. They are an example of initiating force, of threatening to get from others by aggressive force what they think they should get.
They cannot teach that the government is a servant of individuals because they believe it should be supported by giving it a monopoly to use aggressive force to make people pay. They can only teach that it is a master of the individual.
They cannot teach justice because their method of supporting the schools is based on injustice — arbitrary, initiated force.
They cannot teach that each man is responsible for his own life because they deny that by using force to take part of man's energy against his will, and man cannot be responsible for his life unless he has the right to choose.

There is nothing more important for parents than their duty to see that their children are treated fairly and have an opportunity to learn from schools that can teach these great moral principles and axioms. It is not the money we're wasting in our tax-run schools that is so important, but it is that our children are not being taught the moral laws that tax-less schools can teach.

It is because children can be taught what is right in tax-less schools and they cannot be so taught in tax-run schools that I am obliged to do what little I can to get parents to see that they are not doing their duty to their children by sending them to tax-run schools.

What we need above everything else is more people devoting more time to seeing that the youth of the land are instilled with belief in the great moral laws, the Golden Rule, and the Declaration of Independence. Government schools cannot teach successfully the will to learn. The best way to teach anything is by example. But the superintendent and managers of the schools themselves are not enough interested in the will to learn to be willing to answer questions as they would before a court to determine whether what they are doing is in harmony with what they profess to believe. If there is anything a man of integrity should want to learn, it is whether what he is doing is in harmony and consistent with what he says.

It's back to school time! This is for all the parents and their children who attend public school. I attended public school all my life, until September 2002 when I began attending a private, Christian school. The differences are incredible!

Reading, writing, and arithmetic used to be what a child learned in school. Is this what you think your child is getting in school?

Throughout most of my time spent in public school, the kids in my classes only read one or two books throughout the whole year. I was identified as being smart/dumb enough to go to "Gifted and Talented a.k.a. Advanced Placement classes. The Advanced Placement courses have now been replaced with IB classes, which are part of the International Baccalaureate Organization, UNESCO, United Nations. In this class, we were assigned numerous short stories to read, mostly about the myths of other countries, and about their religions. This class bragged it was a higher-level class, in which advanced students could "maximize" their learning capacity. I was busy learning about the religions and cultures of other countries, but never knowing such authors as Henry van Dyke, Washington Irving, O. Henry, or even Henry Wadsworth Longfellow until I attended private school. These authors and others like Mark Twain and Emily Dickinson are purely American, and the basis for all literary writings in America to date. Why were they never taught to me? Even in the so-called advanced classes we never read "Rip van Winkle." Instead, we were assigned books like "The Giver" by Lois Lowry, which gave the details of killing babies and living in a world where no one was special and a person's worth was based on his/her ability to conform to the group. Was I being conditioned?

Obama's Education Appointee Openly Advocates Homosexual Agenda for Government Schools

'Parents should be most concerned about the harmful and radical policies he could enact today that would negatively impact public schoolchildren.'

Yet another controversial presidential appointee is in the national spotlight. Safe Schools czar Kevin Jennings has been accused of inappropriate statements and actions, including the failure to report evidence of sexual activity between a teenager and an adult.

Candi Cushman, education analyst for Focus on the Family Action, said you don't have to look back 20 years to be concerned about Jennings.

"Parents should be most concerned about the harmful and radical policies he could enact today that would negatively impact public schoolchildren," she said.

The best evidence is Jennings' 13-year track record as leader of the largest homosexual advocacy group in the nation, devoted entirely to promoting homosexuality to kids: GLSEN, the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network.

Under the quise of "safe schools," GLSEN promotes classroom activities that not only give biased portrayals of Christian and socially conservative viewpoints, but also turn students into lobbyists for its extreme left causes.

For example, GLSEN has suggested that students ask for a "queer-friendly prom" and to "launch a campaign to create a gender-neutral, all-genders or multi-gendered bathroom at their school."

Jennings has stated that he used the term "safety" as a "calling card" to open the door.

"This is all very frightening to parents and students of faith who expect government-funded schools to be neutral and respectful toward all viewpoints, including theirs," said Cushman, "but now we have someone in charge of the 'safe schools' office with a proven track record of twisting 'safety' into political activism."

Baxter International has been caught in what appears to be an attempted world-wide release of a weaponized version of the H591 Avian Flu virus. The pharmaceutical company was caught shipping flu vaccines to at least 18 countries that contained live avian flu virus that had been mixed in with seasonal H3N2 flu viruses. The combination produces a super-strain of the virus that makes the normally hard-to-spread avian flu virus "super-airborne and easily spread". It has been called "virtually impossible" by experts for this contamination to have occurred as an innocuous mistake in a BSL3 (Bio Safety Level 3) facility with its stringent safety and production requirements.

There were a number of other factors that point to this episode being more than a simple manufacturing oversight including:

1. The vaccines weren't irradiated as is usual and customary in the production process to kill any viruses.

2. The company stood to profit from a world wide pandemic as it also manufactures an avian flu vaccine and has contracts with many different governments to provide mass inoculations in just such a crisis.

3. Baxter Officials have a history of knowingly shipping deadly pharmaceutical products. I have cautioned my own friends and family for years against taking anything by Baxter International/Bayer (as well as Merck and Wyeth who have each had similar scandals) after the company was caught selling blood products they knew to be contaminated with HIV!!

OAT-DATE RAWIES

2 cups sprouted oats (I soak the oats for 8-10 hours in fluoride-free water, drain and soak again for 8-10 hours. I then make the cookies or leave them a few hours to sprout in a large colander covered with a plate to keep them moist, rinsing every couple hours

1 cup seeded, soaked dates, drained (Soak for 1 hour in fluoride-free water right before making cookies)

1 cup soaked raisins, drained (soak for 1 hour in fluoride-free water before making cookies)

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon - Use organic Ceylon cinnamon which is healthier and better tasting than the Cassia cinnamon that you find in most grocery stores.

(Save soak water from dried fruits for drinking or making smoothies, etc.)

Using a homogenizing juicer (or I use a food processor), homogenize the oats and dates until smooth and place in a large bowl. Stir in the raisins and cinnamon. For each rawie, form about 2 tablespoons of the dough into a ball, place on a drying tray and press into a 1/2 inch round. Dehydrate for 18 hours or until desired.

Letters from parents often complain of a sense of futility in trying to argue with their own children, who have been fed a steady diet of the politically correct vision of the world, from elementary school to the university.

Some ask for suggestions of particular books that might make a dent in the know-it-all attitude of some young people who have heard only one side of the story in classrooms all their lives.

That is one way of going about trying to de-program young people. There are, for example, some good books showing what is wrong with the “global warming” crusades or showing why male-female differences in income or occupations are not automatically discrimination.

Various authors have written a lot of good books that demolish what is currently believed — and taught to students — on a wide range of issues. Some of those books are listed as suggested readings on my website (www.tsowell.com).

Yet trying to undo the propaganda that passes for education at too many schools and colleges, one issue at a time, may not always be the best strategy.

There are too many issues on which the politically correct party line is considered to be the only way to look at things.

Given the wide range of issues on which students are indoctrinated, instead of being educated, trying to undo all of that would require a whole shelf full of books — and somehow getting the students to read them all.

Another approach might be to respond to the dogmatic certainty of some young person, perhaps your own offspring, by asking: “Have you ever read a single book on the other side of that issue?”

Chances are, after years of being “educated,” even at some of the highest-priced schools and colleges, they have not.

When the inevitable answer to your question is “No,” you can simply point out how illogical it is to be so certain about anything when you have heard only one side of the story — no matter how often you have heard that one side repeated.

Would it make sense for a jury to reach a verdict after having heard only the prosecution’s case, or only the defense attorney’s case, but not both?

There is no need to argue the specifics of the particular issue that has come up. You can tell your overconfident young student that you will be happy to discuss that particular issue after he or she has taken the elementary step of reading something by somebody on the other side.

Elementary as it may seem that we should hear both sides of an issue before making up our minds, that is seldom what happens on politically correct issues today in our schools and colleges.

The biggest argument of the left is that there is no argument — whether the issue is global warming, “open space” laws or whatever.

Some students may even imagine that they have already heard the other side because their teachers may have given them their version of other people’s arguments or motives.

But a jury would never be impressed by having the prosecution tell them what the defendant’s defense is. They would want to hear the defense attorney present that case.

Yet most students who have read and heard repeatedly about the catastrophes awaiting us unless we try to stop “global warming” have never read a book, an article or even a single word by any of the hundreds of climate scientists, in countries around the world, who have expressed opposition to that view.

These students may have been shown Al Gore’s movie “An Inconvenient Truth” in school, but are very unlikely to have been shown the British Channel 4 television special, “The Great Global Warming Swindle.”

Even if we assume, for the sake of argument, that students are being indoctrinated with the correct conclusions on current issues, that would still be irrelevant educationally.

Hearing only one side does nothing to equip students with the experience to know how to sort out opposing sides of other issues they will have to confront in the future, after they have left school and need to reach their own conclusions on the issues arising later.

Yet they are the jury that will ultimately decide the fate of this nation.

Cognitive Dissonance

Cognitive dissonance is a psychological phenomenon which refers to the discomfort felt at a discrepancy between what you already know or believe, and new information or interpretation. It therefore occurs when there is a need to accommodate new ideas, and it may be necessary for it to develop so that we become "open" to them. Neighbour (1992) makes the generation of appropriate dissonance into a major feature of tutorial (and other) teaching: he shows how to drive this kind of intellectual wedge between learners' current beliefs and reality.

Beyond this benign if uncomfortable aspect, however, dissonance can go "over the top", leading to two interesting side-effects for learning:

* if someone is called upon to learn something which contradicts what they already think they know — particularly if they are committed to that prior knowledge — they are likely to resist the new learning. Even Carl Rogers recognised this. Accommodation is more difficult than Assimilation, in Piaget's terms.

* and—counter-intuitively, perhaps—if learning something has been difficult, uncomfortable, or even humiliating enough, people are less likely to concede that the content of what has been learned is useless, pointless or valueless. To do so would be to admit that one has been "had", or "conned".

Cognitive dissonance was first investigated by Leon Festinger and associates, arising out of a participant observation study of a cult which believed that the earth was going to be destroyed by a flood, and what happened to its members — particularly the really committed ones who had given up their homes and jobs to work for the cult — when the flood did not happen. While fringe members were more inclined to recognise that they had made fools of themselves and to "put it down to experience", committed members were more likely to re-interpret the evidence to show that they were right all along (the earth was not destroyed because of the faithfulness of the cult members).

HSL's Thoughts and Analysis
The textbook definition of Cognitive Dissonance above came from a website focused on how people learn and how to teach to the various styles of learners. I am sure most educators would agree that it is harder to teach people anything if they come at an issue with pre-conceived (or pre-programmed) ideas about how the world works that are at odds with reality. So where could pre-conceived and/or pre-programmed ideas about the reasons for and goodness of compulsory government education come from? How about:

* The Government and Their School System - The government is happy to teach you all about the legitimacy and desirability of government schools.

* The MainStreamMedia - Controlled by a handful of corporations (5-6) ultimately controlled by the same families, monied interests, and corporations that control the government.

I developed my understanding of the problems and issues of the government school system by studying what the education historians, whistle blowers, and School Sakharovs have thoroughly and painstakingly documented over the years.

HSL's Comments: Even I will acknowledge that the government schools are not the only reason that kids in America are Stupid. You have to look at Fluoride in the water, mercury and aluminum in the vaccines, Aspartame poisoning, and television BUT the government schools are not teaching kids to avoid these toxins and in fact are pseudo-mandating vaccination, using television in the classroom, and only provide the kids water with Fluoride.

"Public Schools" vs. "Government Schools" and more John Taylor Gatto

One of the terms that is used often by supporters of compulsory government indoctrination is the phrase "Public Schools". I believe this to be one of the most disingenuous and misleading labels ever applied. One of the primary tenants of ownership is that you get to do with your property whatever you choose. I own the computer that I am typing on. If I want to I can take it out in my front yard and crush it with a sledgehammer.

Who owns and controls the "public" school system? Obviously it is not "The Public" They are forced to pay for the schools even if they have no children attending the school but they have no control over the schools.

I am the public... I am a parent of a child in the school... but I have absolutely no control over the school.

I can't stop the school from giving the kids water with Fluoride which reduces IQ.

I can't stop the school from using the dehumanizing practices of Red/Yellow/Green or making kids raise their hands to get a spoon.

I can't stop the school from publicly shaming kids by making them sit at a separate table during lunch.

I can't stop the school from offering my kids foods that contains Genetically Modified Organisms or High Fructose Corn Syrup or refined sugar or Aspartame.

I can't stop the school from holding a mock election where no third party candidates are on the ballot.

I can't get rid of the surveillance cameras conditioning the kids to the surveillance society.

I can't get rid of the police officer in the school handing out little badges and conditioning the kids to accept government authority.

Even if 75% of the parents at Ashburn Elementary decided to quit drinking their Fluoridated water, turn off their teevee sets, and get active to make changes at Ashburn Elementary the school doesn't have to change anything. Why? Because the government controls the schools and not the public. So let's quit calling these indoctrination centers "Public Schools" and start calling them "Government Schools" because that is the reality of the situation.

In the middle of the last century a member of the secret Skull and Bones society, following in the Prussian tradition, set in motion an American educational revolution that has subverted the entire system toward the goals of the New World Order. That man was Daniel Coit Gilman, first president of Johns Hopkins University and of the Carnegie Institution. Gilman studied Hegelian philosophy at the University of Berlin in 185455. Also at the University of Berlin during this time was the earlier mentioned Wilhelm Wundt, who was key in applying Hegelian-styled psychology to the world.

Gilman came from a family of Bonesmen and, after he returned from Germany, in 1856 became treasurer of Skull and Bones. Simultaneously, Gilman became assistant librarian at Yale, and was appointed to the position of head librarian two years later.
During the same period Skull and Bones covertly took over the administration of Yale University, with the presidency of the school from that period forward turned over to a succession of illuminized Bonesmen. According to The Iconoclast (October 13, 1873),
"They have obtained control of Yale. Its business is performed by them. Money paid to the college must pass into their hands, and be subject to their will. No doubt they are worthy men in themselves, but the many whom they looked down upon while in college, cannot so far forget as to give money freely into their hands. Men in Wall Street complain that the college comes straight to them for help, instead of asking each graduate for his share. The reason is found in a remark made by one of Yale's and America's first men: 'Few will give but Bones men, and they care far more for their society than they do for the college.' The Woolsey Fund has but a struggling existence, for kindred reasons... Here, then, appears the true reason for Yale's poverty. She is controlled by a few men who shut themselves off from others, and assume to be their superiors..."
Gilman met with Frederick T. Gates, who ran Rockefeller's foundations, and he implored him to set up the Southern Educational Board, merging the Slater and Peabody funds. Gilman called the foundation the General Education Board—signaling his intentions. The organization was later renamed The Rockefeller Foundation. [2]
Gilman was the first president of Johns Hopkins University, and he carefully chose for the faculty members from the Skull and Bones and other groups of the Hegelian stripe. Among those was G. Stanley Hall, the first of Wundt's American students to make a mark. Hall's training in Leipzig was paid for by a loan from a member of Scroll & Key, sister society to Skull and Bones at Yale. In Leipzig, Hall immersed himself in Hegelian-inspired psychological studies taught by materialist psychologists like Hartmann, Helmholtz, and his greatest influence, Wundt. Returning to America in 1883, he took over the psychological laboratory at the new Johns Hopkins, and started the American Psychological Association and the American Journal of Psychology. According to Hall, "The psychology I taught was almost entirely experimental and covered for the most part the material that Wundt had set forth in the later and larger edition of Physiological Psychology." [3]
In 1889 Hall was chosen as the first president of the newly established Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts. Hall was the mentor of one of the most influential names in American education of this century: John Dewey.
Dewey studied under Hall at Johns Hopkins, moving on to teach at the universities of Michigan and Minnesota. Another major influence upon Dewey was the Hegelian philosopher George Sylvester Morris, who had received his doctorate from the University of Berlin. According to Dewey, echoing the sentiments of his Prussian mentors,
"There is no god, and there is no soul. There are no needs for the props of traditional religion. "With dogma and creed excluded, then immutable truth is also dead and buried.
"There is no room for fixed, natural law or permanent moral absolutes." [4]

Dewey published the first American textbook on Hegelian philosophy as applied to the Wundtian psychological innovations in his book Psychology. In 1895 he joined the faculty at the Rockefeller-funded University of Chicago, heading the philosophy, psychology, and teaching departments, and establishing an education laboratory called the Dewey School, later known as the Laboratory School of the University of Chicago.
Dewey followed the Wundtian example in his insistence that education was not the teaching of mental skills such as reading and writing, but in the channeling of raw experiences to the evolving mind of the child; a sort of psychic Skinner's box version of education. The traditional role of the teacher as educator was replaced by the teacher as shrink, socializer, eugenicist and herald of the coming world superstate. Dewey believed that the purpose of public schools was to "take an active part in determining the social order of the future... according as the teachers align themselves with the newer forces making for social control of economic forces." [5]

Dewey also remarked that "The school is primarily a social institution. Education being a social process, the school is simply that form of community life in which all those agencies are concentrated that will be most effective in bringing the child to share in the inherited resources of the race, and to use his own powers for social ends. Education, therefore, is a process of living and not a preparation for future living." [6]

For Dewey, the issue was always how the child related to the State, rather than how the State related to the child.
Another student of Wundt, who was to prove to be perhaps the most successful popularizer of the new psychology that abolished the psyche, was James McKeen Cattell. Cattell was Wundt's assistant in Leipzig in the years 1883-86, receiving his Ph.D. from the grand old man in 1886. Lecturing in Cambridge in 1887, Cattell met and was converted to Social Darwinism by Darwin's cousin, the English psychologist Francis Galton, the man responsible for the popularization at the beginning of this century of the science of eugenics and selective breeding.
In 1887 Cattell established at the University of Pennsylvania a psychological laboratory of the Wundtian mold, then moved on in 1891 to head the new psychology department at Columbia University. Cattell was tremendously influential in disseminating the new overtly materialistic psychology, and did so by establishing a host of magazines, including The Psychological Review, Science, Scientific Monthly, and School and Society. He also published reference works including American Men of Science, Leaders in Education, and The Directory of American Scholars, an effective strategy for screwing Wundtian-school psychologists into the mainstream of American thought.
Another of Cattell's questionable feats was the abolition of the use of phonics methods for teaching reading. Cattell popularized the "Look-Say" method of teaching reading, a technique that according to some sources had been invented by Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet for teaching the deaf. Although Gallaudet was not a member of Skull and Bones, two of his sons attended Yale and were initiated into the secret society.
Following upon the insight of Gallaudet in teaching the deaf, Cattell came to the conclusion that the direct memorization of words would increase literacy if applied to normal students. Experience in subsequent years has not proven this to be the case, obviously, and one byproduct of Cattell's advocacy of the "Look-Say" theory is that as we approach the 21st century millions of American adults cannot read or write at all.
The whole story about Gallaudet may in fact be a sanitization of what actually happened. Educator John Taylor Gatto attributes the "Look-Say" method to the Prussian system of schooling, where this system of not-teaching-reading was used essentially to disadvantage all but the privileged class. Gatto says, "So they figured out that by replacing the alphabet system of teaching reading we teach sounds. (The Prussian System was a whole sentence system, rather than a whole word system. You memorize whole sentences.) If they could get the kids and keep them from reading well for the first six and seven years, then it didn't matter after that. They had broken the link between printed information." [7]
Possibly the most effective Trojan horse for injecting the Wundtian theory of man-as-machine into the American educational establishment was an individual, James Earl Russell, who studied under and received his doctorate from Wundt in 1894. Russell became dean of the New York College for the Training of Teachers, which he would run for thirty years while heavily weighting its faculty with practitioners of the Wundtian school, at the same time turning it into the largest institution for the training of teachers in the country. Another luminary in the shrink-wrapping of American education was Edward Lee Thorndike, who studied with Wundtians Armstrong and Judd at Wesleyan University, graduating in 1895. Thorndike moved on to Columbia University, where he specialized in studying animals in "puzzle box" mazes, finally finding his niche at Teachers College under Russell.
According to Thorndike, teaching was "The art of giving and withholding stimuli with the result of producing or preventing certain responses. In this definition the term stimulus is used widely for any event which influences a person,—for a word spoken to him, a look, a sentence which he reads, the air he breathes, etc. etc. The term response is used for any reaction made by him, —anew thought, a feeling of interest, a bodily act, any mental or bodily condition resulting from the stimulus. The aim of the teacher is to produce desirable and prevent undesirable changes in human beings by producing and preventing certain responses. The means at the disposal of the teacher are the stimuli which can be brought to bear upon the pupil, —the teacher's words, gestures, and appearance, the condition and appliances of the school room, the books to be used, and objects to be seen, and so on through a long list of the things and events which the teacher can control." [8]
Thorndike further stated,
"Studies of the capacities and interests of young children indicate the advisability of placing little emphasis before the age of six upon either the acquisition of those intellectual resources known as the formal tools —reading, spelling, arithmetic, writing, etc. —or upon abstract intellectual analysis...
"Despite rapid progress in the right direction the program of the average elementary school is too narrow and academic in character. Traditionally the elementary school has been primarily devoted to teaching the fundamental subjects, the three R's, and closely related disciplines... Artificial exercises, like drills on phonetics, multiplication tables, and formal writing movements, are used to a wasteful degree. Subjects such as arithmetic, language, and history include content that is intrinsically of little value. Nearly every subject is enlarged unwisely to satisfy the academic ideal of thoroughness. That the typical school overemphasizes instruction in these formal, academic skills as a means of fostering intellectual resources... is a justifiable criticism... Elimination of unessentials by scientific study, then, is one step in improving the curriculum." [9]
The emphasis by Thorndike and his fellows on the "socialization" of the student—in fact the subjugation of the student to the social order—as opposed to the teaching of specific skills, is another factor that has led to a general breakdown of literacy in the United States, while at the same time providing no noticeable increase in the ability to socialize—in fact, obviously the contrary.
Thorndike believed that, "Education is interested primarily in the general interrelation of man and his environment, in all the changes which make possible a better adjustment of human nature to its surroundings."
This is another important aspect of Thorndike's and all of the other latter-day Wundtians' philosophies. Man is an animal who must adapt to the environment, that is, the social system and political regime, rather than adapting the environment to his own vision. Man is to be conditioned to accept the circumstances that he finds himself in, not learn to change them. Again, the controlling elite have no qualms about changing society or the environment to conform to their own whims—even if it takes 'dozing a rainforest—it is only the rebellious public-schooled who must have the devastating defect of individuality brainwashed out of them. The socialization techniques used by the Wundtians create robots, not sociable people.
Working out of the Teachers College at Columbia University and the later-established Lincoln School, and dependent upon a steady infusion of Rockefeller money, the major lights in the field of Wundtian psychology, including Thorndike, Cattell, Russell, and Dewey, kick-started "educational" psychology, remaking the face of American schooling. And many of these disciples of Wundt were very straightforward in proclaiming that the purpose of educational psychology was the creation of a New World Order.
By the 1950s the Teachers College was indisputably the most powerful force in education in America, with approximately one third of all school presidents and deans, and one fourth of all American teachers accredited there. It must have been reassuring to the Rockefellers and their ilk to see that materialistic psychology and education had won, and was now accepted as the norm in American school systems.
